the afterlife dragon, 2024
'the afterlife dragon' is a Mixed Media sculpture project developed in my first semester at Emily Carr University. The project prompt was using the triangle shape as a starting point to anything I could think of, and since I have a deep interest on mystical dragons and spider lilies I merged both subjects into a dragon battling through life and death.
Later, the sculpture was exhibited both in the Emily Carr art sale and for resonance gallery at the UBC Art Student Centre.

Sketching phase for the base model
Fixing the skeleton base and the main wire
Building the prototype with aluminum foil and hot glue
Modelling with airdry clay over the aluminum foil and attaching the small wires
Testing out the first flowers and tail prototypes
